We are adding thirty new plans to our product mix and adding at least three more communities this year to our current line up for a grand total of 28 active new home communities.

Who is Essex?
Essex Homes as it is today was a long time in the making.
1985 - Aiken, SC: Karl Haslinger, owner and CEO, began building custom homes in this beautiful Southern town, one by one. He decided that homebuilding was indeed the path his life was meant to follow.
1993 - Columbia, SC: Karl founded Essex Homes Southeast, Inc., in Columbia, building approximately 25 homes per year.
Present - Columbia, SC: Essex Homes now builds over 350 homes each year while maintaining much of that custom heritage as seen in the large number of original designs and the quality manner in which our homes are built.
The corporate office located in Lexington, South Carolina houses all departments from drafting to sales, including our newly completed, ever- growing Design Studio. The Essex Homes Design Studio is our 3,000 square foot showroom of home features and ideas under one roof created to offer convenience and customization to our homebuyers.
Repeat occurrences in Fast Track of Builder Magazine and numerous awards such as Builder of the Year have proven that Essex Homes is a leader in the new homebuilding industry. A customer service satisfaction rate of 96% has been one of Karl’s and Essex’s greatest achievements thus far. Perserverance, strategic planning and an abundance of faith have created a successful business, lifetime trade partners and friends for Karl and his family.

Vision
The Essex Homes business and business practices are based on deep rooted values, integrity and insight into today’s homebuyer. Karl Haslinger, owner and CEO, is an integral part of his organization and works daily in the corporate office located in Lexington, South Carolina.
With the changing economy and the changing desires of our homebuyers, Essex is continually creating new designs, updating the overall features and modernizing our Designer Selections to meet these demands. Essex Homes will introduce 30 new floor plans this year!
Essex is also planning the grand openings of 5 new neighborhoods in the Columbia area! Construction has begun in 2 of these neighborhoods and the preliminary development on the remaining three is underway.
Future plans for Essex includes expanding into the Charlotte, North Carolina market. An office has been secured and staff members are in place and ready to begin this new phase of development for Essex.
